Ceramic Coating FAQs
What is a ceramic coating?
A liquid polymer applied to the paint that cures into a durable, hydrophobic layer. It shields against UV rays, oxidation, dirt and water spots while adding gloss.
How long does it last?
Our Gyeon systems are rated in 3-, 5- and 8-year tiers. Real-world life depends on maintenance, driving conditions and exposure: hand washing preserves it, tunnel washes shorten it.
Do I still need to wax?
No. The coating replaces wax entirely. That is much of the point. Instead of re-waxing every few weeks, you wash and go.
Will it stop rock chips?
It resists minor scratches, but it is not armor. For chip and deep-scratch defense, paint protection film is the right tool; a coating is chemistry, not a shield.
How do I care for a coated car?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap and stay out of automatic car washes. Our maintenance plans keep coated cars on exactly that routine.
